SUSTAINABILITY WITH STYLE!
Redesigning, remodeling or redecorating your home in a sustainable way is easier than you think. One way to be more eco-friendly is simply painting an old dresser or desk and adding new hardware. Another way is to reupholster an old chair or sofa. Renewing old furniture does two things: it keeps furniture out of landfills and it provides a less expensive way to update an older piece.
Retailers also sell sustainable goods and prices for these items are not expensive; eco-friendly everything is now available in stores or online!
Some of my clients have accomplished this by donating their old furniture or cabinetry to family, friends or to the Habitat ReStore. Anyone is free to shop there and they are always accepting new items. It's amazing what you can find there: pictures, frames, hardware (nails, screws, knobs, etc.), ceramic tile, chairs, tables, doors, bathtubs, lights, cabinetry, and more!
